After discussion with School Administration, we will be taking a break from open gyms, weight room use, and outside practices. The school, gyms, weight room, and any facility on school grounds will be closed to all student athletes and coaches during this time. Here are the reasons why.
1) to conform with practices implemented within our ISD (all the schools in the ISD except Manistique have suspended open gyms until 8/1 or further notice). Menominee, Stephenson, and CN have also closed down gyms.
2) The new E.O. requires facemasks in public buildings.
3) There is an uptick in both Delta and Menominee Counties.
4) We are being proactive and doing our best to keep our students safe so that we can get to the season that we desperately want to have. We will hear from MHSAA in the days to come about any potential changes to Fall Sports.
We will reevaluate on August 1, 2020.
